The International Cup of Chess among champions of schools started in RSSU

More than 700 participants from 12 countries came for start of a traditional international Cup of Chess among champions of schools. Competitions will take place during 9 days in audiences of the Russian state social university, within the program of the International Cup of Chess in RSSU on Moscow Open 2013. Competitions are carried out in four age subgroups (under 9, 11, 13 and 15), separated by gender. The youngest participant of tournament – the Muscovite Lavr Glotov is only 5 years old.

The director of the International chess school union Alexander Kostyev and the representative of the World chess federation (FIDE) Theodoros Tsorbatzoglou from Greece addressed with greeting remarks during the tournament's brilliant opening ceremony.

The main prize will be permits on the Scholastic World Cup which will take place in May of this year in Greece: they will be received by the two winners in each age group.

On February 2 at RSSU will be the start of the young adult competitions of the International Chess Cup of RSSU Moscow Open 2013, including stages of the Cup of Russia among men and women.
