RGSU ready to welcome the Moscow Open 2013

On Friday, at the Russian State Social University (RGSU) the working meeting took place of the organising committee of the 9th Мoscow Open 2013 international chess festival. The meeting dealt with all technical problems, connected with running one of the strongest, not only chess events, but sporting events in the capital.

The Deputy Director General of the of sporting and entertainment events for Moscow, Sergey Kuptsov, pointed out that the organisation and running of the Мoscow Open is a long process and everyone works together as a single team, The first rector of RGSU Sergey Naumenkov asserted that on 31 January, the university will be ready to welcome all the players of the tournament and the whole entertainment will be run at the highest level, as always. The Executive Director of the Moscow Chess Federation (MCF), and tournament director Alexander Nikolaevich Kostyev spoke about the traditions of the festival, pointed out the work done, and underlined the fact that the Мoscow Open becomes more popular every year, both in this country and in the whole world.

First Vice-President Nikita Kim pointed out that the Мoscow Open is not just a tournament, but a brand of Moscow chess. The MCF, Moskomsport and the RGSU have done an enormous amount of work over eight years, and every year, more than 1500 players take part.
We would remind you that the tournament takes place from 31 January to 11 February 2013. The guaranteed prize fund is 3.5 million roubles.
